Refresher

This is my life: Our Refresher

Matthew 19:5-6 “ … ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Our wedding scripture :) We both want it tattooed, but I don't think I'm brave enough to conquer that or will be happy with that decision permanently afterwards lol!   I still can't believe we just celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary! Seems surreal and we have made this life together, and our little family...literally, all my dreams come true.
A picture from our honeymoon....we look like babies!!!
And now have our babies <3 So blessed

So, this year was my year to plan our anniversary celebration.  We always like to do something special and really recognize it, because well, it's a big deal :)  Our first year celebrating, we were both planning something and soon realized, we need to start the switching off every year so we didn't hit that speed bump again.

I planned zip lining.  That's right!

I tried to make this picture as big as I could, so you could capture the height and scariness that this was. haha, But honestly the worst part was the metal spiral stair cases getting up to the platforms.  They warm you up and get you used to the equipment beforehand, so you feel comfortable when you take the lift to the top of the mountain and zip your way down.  It was so much fun and we were blessed with beautiful weather!
When we arrived, he thought I had a timer on :)
The warm up course, nice and close to the ground!
The dreaded stair case, you have to just look down and not site see on your way up.  But look at the view!
The big one!!! At this point I really wasn't scared, although my hands were quite clammy. This was such an adventure and so happy that I can still have fun with my husband.

We share the ups and downs of life, all that life entails, children, bills, exhaustion, school, just life...and when we get time alone, it is not taken for granted and just feels so good to be him and I...to know that after we raise our family, I will still have him, I sometimes don't have enough words.

After we zip lined, we did the segway tour.  This was hysterical and fun!
It literally feels like they know what you are thinking...crazy!

After our outdoor adventures, we went to check in at our hotel, get washed up and headed to dinner.
My all time favorite spots to eat are on the water.  They are hard to find around home, so when we go away to a lake or some sort of body of water, this just made me so excited.  It was right next to Mills Falls, we could actually see a bride and groom getting their pictures taken on a dock. So pretty!
And , the small details, underneath us is all sand!!! I was so excited .  ( I know, sad)

After dinner, we got some ice cream and walked along the docks. This little over night refresher was such a blessing. I wouldn't change my life for anything, but having three young little boys, it's exhausting in all aspects.  To just walk, hand in hand, not having to worry about wrangling our herd, just felt wonderful and relaxing.
When we go to bed at night, away, this is when I long for my children to be near.  I'm sure most moms can relate.  Something about the bedtime routine and having them snuggled in their beds sleeping, also brings me a sense of security.  But, I got to sleep :)  I woke up at 645, looked at the clock and said "nope" and went back to sleep and we slept until 9!!!! yay sleep!

The boys were excited to see us walk in the door, Nathan's reaction was priceless.  He was excited and then breaks into a cry/whine...missed us so much.  My sister in law did awesome.

That night, we took them for a picnic on lake a town over and it was a blast. I think the little break was good for them too.  Gives everyone a new look on life haha.  I felt refreshed as a mom and wife, so I am better for everyone. phew :)

Yesterday was our actual anniversary and we wanted to celebrate with the boys.  We think it's important for them to actually see us taking the time to celebrate our ANNIVERSITY.  That's what Jamison calls it, and I think it might stick.  I told them we were going to a special dinner for Mama and Dada's anniversity, and they busted out their bow ties.  Smart boys ;)

Another amazing year of marriage, here's too many more!
